At PROTEC Sp. z o.o. we consistently invest in quality, modern technologies and long-term relationships with our business partners. A natural step in our company’s development has been to organise and formalise our activities in the area of sustainable development by implementing an ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) approach.
For us, ESG is not only about regulatory requirements but, above all, a practical tool for better managing the company’s impact on the environment, people and the business ecosystem.
Double materiality analysis and process audit
The first stage of our work was to carry out a double materiality analysis and an audit of the company’s key business processes. This analysis made it possible to identify:
- which areas of PROTEC’s operations have the greatest impact on the environment, employees, the local community and business partners,
- which sustainability-related challenges and risks are the most important for us from the perspective of the company’s further development.
At this stage, we are cooperating with dESG, a company from our region, which supports us with its expertise in identifying priorities and structuring our ESG approach in a consistent and practical way.
Why ESG matters to us
Identifying the most important topics resulting from the analysis gives us a real opportunity to:
- better manage environmental aspects (including resource efficiency, energy consumption, impact on the surroundings),
- strengthen social aspects (employee safety and development, cooperation with the local community),
- further improve governance and management (process transparency, responsible business decisions).
As a result, we can respond even better to the expectations of our customers, partners and employees, while building a stable foundation for PROTEC’s long-term growth.
Next steps – ESG report and strategy integration
We are at the beginning of this journey. The next important step will be to prepare a comprehensive ESG report that will present, in a structured way, our goals, activities and indicators in the area of sustainable development.
We also plan to integrate ESG activities into the company’s strategic management, so that environmental, social and governance issues become an integral part of business decisions, investments and cooperation with customers and suppliers.
