Types of Gutter End Caps
A gutter end cap is the component that seals the open end of a half round or square gutter, directing all water flow toward the outlet instead of letting it escape at the side.
- Flat end caps - the standard gutter finish, soldered or bonded in place. Available in left and right versions, selected according to the direction of water flow as seen from the building side.
- Decorative rounded end caps (quarter-sphere) - a half-spherical finish used where the end cap is visually exposed, typically on copper and titanium-zinc gutters on prestige buildings.
Left and Right Gutter End Caps
When ordering gutter end caps, the installation side must be specified as left or right. Standing facing the building from the outside: a left end cap closes the left side of the gutter, a right end cap closes the right side. End caps in custom sizes and sheet thicknesses are also produced on request.

A flat end cap is the standard, soldered or bonded finish used on most installations. A decorative rounded end cap has a half-spherical shape and is chosen for copper or titanium-zinc gutters where the end cap remains visible.
How do I know if I need a left or right gutter end cap?
